The mission of all those working at Vila Podvin is reviving and updating tradition, enlightening guests about stories of our cultural and natural heritage, and striving to ensure these stories continue.
Chef Uroš Štefelin researches the dishes our grandmothers cooked and ate, as well as indigineous types of plants and animals, and strives to use these ingredients to create dishes that are traditional whilst also modern in order that they will remain of interest for the next generation. Each dish really comes to life when it is served with care and attention, hence we decided to devote additional time and resources to the way of serving food as well as the tableware on which it is served.
Together with the academic painter Matjaž Arnol and the attendees of the Radovljica Centre for Training, Work and Care (CUDV), we have developed a unique range of tableware including plates, dishes and saucers which further enhance our food and create an entirely new experience.
